The Angel School of Dance was established in 1979 and the name has become synonymous with excellence in teaching and performance.
Angela has danced since the age of seven and has over twenty-five years teaching experience having gained her Diploma qualifications as part of the National Qualifications Framework.
The British Ballet Organisation (BBO), syllabus is used throughout all classes and pupils have the opportunity to progress through the grades to reach their full potential.
Angela is a member of Dance UK and the Guild of Professional Teachers of Dance and Movement to Music & Dramatic Arts.
We offer a range of Ballet, Tap and Jazz classes throughout the week (Monday to Saturday), across two sites, Chepstow Leisure Centre and Caldicot Leisure Centre.
Classes include:
The BBO curriculum has been developed to encourage a child’s natural desire to move to music, developing coordination, posture and discipline. At the Pre-Primary and Primary levels, pupils will learn plies, sautés, skips, spring points and many more steps in preparation for working through the grades; Pre-primary to Advanced.
Each grade builds upon the previous lessons learned enabling the pupils to perform with skill and confidence.
Dancers can work through Tap Grades from Preparatory to Advanced. Pupils will learn set exercises aimed at developing rhythm and coordination and building confidence.
As with ballet, each grade builds upon the previous lessons learned enabling the pupils to perform with skill.
Jazz dance offers an excellent and enjoyable way to exercise. Our classes are for all ages. From the age of seven years to adult, pupils will experience an enjoyable and energetic physical workout, keeping the body fit and the brain alert and active.
Our classes incorporate a mixture of jazz, modern and show dance and are an excellent way to improve coordination and build general fitness.

We believe we have a duty of care to both pupils and parents and are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for all students attending dance classes. All staff teaching at the school are checked through Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) to ensure their suitability to work with children.
We believe that good behaviour during the lessons is as important as the discipline required to become a great dancer. We expect all pupils to be punctual, attentive, and enthusiastic and to behave during the lessons. The teacher reserves the right to dismiss students who are consistently disruptive.
